While researching populating enterprise backgrounds for Teams conversations. I discovered a nice trick to enable GIF backgrounds in Teams.
Background
Microsoft teams has apparently hard coded the backgrounds it accepts to JPG or PNG picture types. JPG file type does support GIF style animated graphics. The trick here is save a *.GIF file as *.JPG. Just rename the file! Tip: Make sure you use a descriptive file name
